Where is the Milky Way located relative to rest of the universe?
Does anyone know the "location" of Milky Way relative to rest of the observable universe?
Are we near the center?
just as on the surface of the earth, all observers are at the center of their observable world (limited by the horizon), the center of the observable universe is wherever the observer is, by definition. there is no physical significance to that location other than the fact that the observer is there. in the case of the universe, the field of view is limited by the fact that the distant, early universe was/is opaque to light.
